Dave (pseudonym to protect student anonymity) lost family relatives and a close friend who suffered from degenerative diseases. Years have passed, Dave still remembers the last few months and years of their lives that were extremely tormenting physically and emotionally for themselves and their loved ones. Dave aspires to study biomedical engineering in college and later on pursue a career in this field, with the belief that finding the cure for degenerative diseases lies in the interdisciplinary collaboration between biological science and technology.
After studying biology, chemistry, and physics in his first two years of high school, Dave is eager to explore the interdisciplinary field of biomedical engineering at Brown this summer.
After studying biology, chemistry, and physics in his first two years of high school, Dave is eager to explore the interdisciplinary field of biomedical engineering at Brown this summer, learning the fundamentals, discussing the frontier research, and beginning to understand what it means to be a biomedical engineer. Further, Brown is among the several colleges on the East Coast that Dave is considering applying in his senior year. So the summer program at Brown provides him a great opportunity to get to know this Ivy League school. Congratulations, Dave!
