Penisula Academy College Acceptance Update

Fall 2022

The competitive colleges and universities in the US have gotten more competitive during the 2021-2022 admissions process. Record number of applicants and the roughly same number of spots led to record breaking rejections. Our students once again stood out from their peers to win acceptances at some of the country's most coveted colleges and universities. As of this writing on May 15, 2022, all 19 students that we worked with gained acceptances. 81% of them were accepted by at least one of their top three choices, 44% by a Top 20 college or university, 81% by a Top 30, and 94% by a Top 50, including University of Chicago, Johns Hopkins University, Vanderbilt, University of Washington in St. Louis, Rice, Carnegie Mellon, UCLA, UC Berkeley, New York University, Georgetown, and Pomona College. Our students come from a wide academic spectrum, earning an unweighted GPA between 3.0 and 4.0 and a weighted GPA between 3.0 and 4.7, and pursuing a variety of interests such as business, computer science, physics, film production, and culinary art, to name just a few.

The consulting service and academic tutoring I received at Peninsula Academy made my dream a reality. When I met my transfer consultant TJ for the first time, he helped me to make a detailed plan for my study in the next two years in community college. Thanks to his guidance, I have the confidence to pursue my dream school, UCLA. He taught me how to enrich my academic and extracurricular activities, so as to stand out in the transfer application. I would also like to thank my teacher Luke, whose writing guidance helped me structure my essays better and improve my writing skills. In late April this year, I received an offer from UCLA. I am very grateful for their help and expertise!
