Director of Tutoring

 

Peninsula Academy is looking to hire a Director of Tutoring to lead our comprehensive tutoring, test prep, and educational enrichment programs. Reporting directly to the managing partner, the Director is integral to the success of the academy by managing, coordinating, and promoting our on-site and online services for hundreds of students. 

The budgeted salary for this position is between $36,000 and $48,000 per year. An even higher salary can be negotiated for an exceptionally qualified candidate. Additional bonus is paid twice a year, exact amount depending on revenue and profit. The position offers 6 days of paid vacation each year, accruable upon completing the first six months of employment. The position also offers 4 days of paid sick leave each year, accruable from the beginning of employment. This position can be arranged as full-time or part-time, depending on the needs and interests of the incumbent. Although the incumbent is expected to work primarily on site, some remote hours can be coordinated each week with other office staff. 
 

Responsibilities

  • Support and oversee the daily operation of the academy.

  • Ensure smooth delivery of programs, classes, and private 1:1 sessions.

  • Provide in-person and virtual administrative support, including answering phones and emails, creating and managing class schedules.

  • Create and maintain high-quality relationships with families by monitoring and sharing students’ progress with families and responding to their needs.

  • Organize and deliver in-person and virtual info sessions or seminars to prospective and existing families for client recruitment and retention. 

  • Build partnerships with local schools, organizations, and business to expand the influence of the academy.

  • Develop new programs as needed to meet market demands.

  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

  • Experience working in a K-12 educational setting. 

  • Ability to organize and manage multiple responsibilities successfully.

  • Proficient in using all communication media including in person, phone, and Zoom.

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with administrative staff, tutors, and counselors. 

  • Ability to effectively communicate with families of diverse backgrounds. 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google applications.

  • High tolerance for ambiguity in a fast-paced work environment. 

  • Bachelor’s degree is required; a degree from an elite college or university is a plus.

  • Bilingual in English and Korean is a plus.

  • Must have legal authorization to work in the U.S.

Admissions Consultant

 

Driven? Engaging? Want to make a difference in students’ future? Need some flexibility in your work schedule? Value productivity and results? Look for competitive pay? If so, we encourage you to join our team. 

We are looking to add 2-3 private school and college admissions consultants to our rapidly expanding team and work with students and families in all aspects of private school and college planning, preparation, and application. Tutoring and teaching opportunities are also available for candidates who are interested.

We offer a competitive base pay ($40-60/hour) commensurate with qualifications and experience. We also offer a generous bi-annual bonus based on productivity. All new hires start as part-time employees, with full-time employment available after 6 months to 1 year upon needs and review.

Responsibilities

  • Meet with students through an ongoing, one-to-one relationship helping them in all aspects of private school and college planning, preparation, and application

  • Work with other counselors in planning and organizing application related group events (boot camps, workshops, seminars, etc.)

  • Sessions can be conducted in person or fully online

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree from a top college/university

  • Experience with private school and/or college admissions

  • Experience working with middle and/or high school students

  • Excellent writing and editing skills

  • Meticulous attention to detail

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

Tutor

 

Peninsula Academy is looking to hire multiple K-12 tutors of all subjects. We offer competitive rates, ranging between $25 and $50/hour, depending on qualifications. Tutors are in general required to work with students in person. For exceptional candidates with excellent educational background (e.g., graduates from a top university) and extensive online tutoring experience, remote tutoring could be arranged.
