For over 35 years, Peninsula Academy has been providing comprehensive tutoring and college counseling to students in the South Bay. Our rigorously selected, high caliber tutors and counselors include graduates of Princeton, Columbia, UPenn, Stanford, UC Berkeley, UCLA, University of Chicago and USC, as well as former and current school teachers and college professors. Together, our tutors and counselors have decades of combined experience in education. Whether it is helping students master difficult concepts, improve test scores, plan for college, write stellar application essays, or simply gain confidence in school, Peninsula Academy has the expertise to help you reach your goals.
Public Speaking + Writing
Grades 2-5 | Mon-Thu 9:00am-12:00 pm or 1:00-4:00 pm

- Week 1: Creative Story Writing
- Week 2: Opinion & Persuasive Writing
- Week 3: Descriptive "Show, Don't Tell" Writing
- Week 4: Personal Narrative Writing
- Week 5: Comic Strip Storytelling
- Week 6: Poetry & Expressive Reading
- Week 7: Imaginative Adventure Stories
- Week 8: Mystery Writing
Every Thursday: Student Presentation Day
Students present their writing to build confidence and public speaking skills!
Middle School Comprehensive Writing
Grades 6-8 | Mon-Thu 9:00am-12:00 pm or 1:00-4:00 pm
Develop strong writing skills through engaging genres including fiction, essays, literary analysis, and research-based projects.
Different Theme Each Week:
- Week 1: Realistic Fiction
- Week 2: Fantasy
- Week 3: Personal Narrative
- Week 4: Literary Analysis
- Week 5: Research Reports
- Week 6: Biographies
- Week 7: Persuasive Writing
- Week 8: Argumentative Essays

Math Program
Middle School | 8-Week Program Monday & Wednesday OR Tuesday & Thursday 9:00am-12:00pm
Get ready for the next level! Build confidence, strengthen skills, and jumpstart next year.
This program is perfect for students who are:
- Rising 5th graders: Wanting to get ahead in 5th grade math
- Rising 6th graders: Preparing for Math 6 or Math 6 Accelerated
- In Math 6/ Math 6 Accelerated: Preparing for PVCM 7/8 Accelerated (7th grade)
- In Math 7: Preparing for Algebra 1
