Fall 2021 Sessions

SAT Intensive Course

Saturday: Practice test (every other week) 9am-12:30 pm 
Sunday: Class  2-5pm 

Whether you take the upcoming SAT in October, November or December 2021, you will see immediate results with our  SAT Intensive program, where you’ll get hands-on exposure to real SATs and proven strategies for each section that you’ll need on test day. 

Program Details:

• Learn a proven way to analyze questions that beat the SAT Reading section. 
• Grasp easy-to-follow test-taking strategies for all sections of the exam. 
• Receive a step-by-step guide to writing the essay.
 

SAT/ACT One-on-One Prep

Private sessions are available for SAT/ACT preparation. Tutors develop personalized lesson plans that address students’ needs for improvement. Students receive extra practice, instruction, and the one-on-one attention they need to succeed.

AP One-on-One Prep

With the cancellation of SAT Subject Tests, AP exams have become more important in college admissions. Students need to score 4's and 5's to demonstrate their mastery of the subject matter. From math to science to languages and humanities, our expert tutors are here to help students enhance their understanding of the subjects and ace the exams. 

College Planning | 6th-11th

Our comprehensive college counseling services aim to help students identify their passion and college dream, and pursue those goals with strategic planning and perseverance. Don't let the pandemic slow you down in pursuing your college dream. Our counselors will help you manage the timeline in the new normal of hybrid learning environment, exploring leadership opportunities, and stay engaged in extracurricular activities.

College Application | Seniors

COVID-19 has profoundly upended the college admissions process. Our dedicated College counselors help students proactively manage the new normal of college application, including dealing with test-optional policies, maximizing success through the early round(s), standing out on letters of recommendation, and drafting stellar essays. Leave the stress of application season behind, and start looking toward your acceptances!  

Competition Camp | 4th-12th

Participating in well-respected competitions will help students flex their intellectual muscles, deepen their passion in the chosen field, and give them an edge to stand out in college admissions. We offer private coaching and group training camps for some of the most prestigious competitions in math, physics, computer science, economics, psychology, and writing. Students will be challenged to develop exceptional talents and be encouraged to push to the limits of their academic abilities. 

Group Math & Science | 5th-12th

Mon-Thu 4-5:30 pm

This  program is designed  to support students mainly in Math and Science, which are among the most challenging subjects in school, and a strong foundation in these subjects is critical to success in numerous fields.
Our highly qualified Homework Tutors graduate from Columbia, UCSD have a deep knowledge and mastery of the material and many years of experience with the local school districts and their teachers.

Advanced Math Club | 4th-12th

Schedule: 
4th/5th :  Tue 3:30-5 pm or Thu 4:30-6pm
AMC 8 Prep : Wed 3:30-5 pm or Fri 5-6:30pm
AMC 10 Prep : TBD
AMC 12 Prep :TBD

This program is designed for those who would like to aspire to a higher level of math skills. Through the teaching of our instructors, UC Berkeley, UCLA, U of Michigan graduate and former Math Club State Champion, some of our students have achieved “Top Independent Scorer” in the Math field Day and Math Count competitions.  In addition, many of our students have received Honor Roll Certificates on the AMC 8, AMC 10 & AMC 12 and been invited to AMIE.

Phonics/Early Reading | K-1st

Friday, 4:00-5:00 PM

Research Has demonstrated that an understanding of how letters relate to the component sounds of words is important in reading. Systematic phonics instruction produces higher achievement for beginning readers and prepares students for early reading success. The combination of literature based instruction with phonics is more powerful than either approach alone.

Young Writers Book Club | 2nd-9th

2nd-3rd   Tue   4pm-5pm

8th-9th    Fri   5-6:30pm

9th & up  Sat 6-7:30 p.m.

Young Writers Book Club aims to provide students with interesting and good-quality books that they might never otherwise read. Students will also practice writing skills, brainstorming, outlining, and editing skills based on the club reading materials. You can choose online or in person for this class.

Greek Mythology | 2nd-6th

4th-5th : Saturday, 3-4:30 pm
6th-7th : Friday, 3:30-5:30 pm

In this workshop, students discover why myths were created by many of the world’s ancient civilizations, and explore how mythology appears in contemporary literature, film and other media today. Students explore the art of storytelling, discuss mythology, and examine oral tradition as they experiment with creative performance, and gain a deeper understanding of literary and dramatic themes. 

Speech and Debate | 3rd-12th

Join our fast-growing speech and debate team! Learn speech, acting, and debate from our partner ModernBrain top coaches. Our students have gone on to win national debate competitions and earn internships with the Supreme Court and Congress. Learn to express yourself, have fun, and 
win awards all while doing something that is great for college admission! 

ISEE/SSAT Prep | 5th-8th

Sunday, 5:00-7:00 PM

This program is designed to help students who are planning to apply to private school for the 2021-2022 school year. Our ISEE/SSAT courses cover the key skills, build vocabulary and strengthen reading comprehension along with strategies you need to succeed on the ISEE/SSAT. 
Your child will learn in a small-group setting, allowing for individual attention and tailored instruction by experienced instructors. 

SCAT Prep | 3rd-7th

Sunday 5-7 p.m.

The SCAT Test (School and College Ability Test) is a standardized test used by Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth (CTY) to identify 2nd – 8th graders for their gifted program. Students will practice for their respective test level using genuine test material in order to gain familiarity with the test format and to work toward mastering the material in each section.
